Managed a team of seven software engineering resources, including all leadership skills such as mentorship, reviews, career goal-setting, performance improvement plan. Data Services DevOps team was composed of resources for New Relic application monitoring, databases in the AWS cloud, and Splunk administration. As Cloud Data Engineering manager, I worked with our federal customer (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) on a product roadmap and infrastructure vision that aligned with their project governance vision of cost reduction, reliability, and user experience. Product owner for the Data Services team, one of five Devops teams, which meant not only leading the team of DevOps engineers but being an evangelist for new technology and products that would enhance our environment, keeping up good government relations with our customer as team technologist and project planner. Technical experience with database engines such as Postgres, SQLserver, using tools like github for version control and collaboration. Knowledge in python and scripting, strong foundations in technical knowledge and computer science across the board. Met with different DevOps teams across the enterprise to collaborate on enterprise project management and innovation, upcoming organizational change management dates.Met weekly with information technology vendors to discuss upcoming software features, SaaS licensing, usage, and technical issues or bugs. Managed operational Service Now request and incident queue to track work and issues.Handled organizational Change Management for application, database, and system changes to Splunk, New Relic, RDS databases, keeping up good relationship management with internal stakeholders and communicating to the external community using both verbal and written communication.

Managed a team of 17 database administrators, 5 data analysts, and 2 leads. We administered over 400 databases consisting of over a petabyte of data.

Performed database tuning and database deployments, triaged operational issues and handled 24 hour on-call support, after-hours deployment support.

Managed security incidents and enforced access controls and performed role and database user audits.
