I contribute to research evaluating the neurosurgical outcomes for children who have sustained gunshot wounds to the head (GSWH). I helped organize data and conduct multivariate analyses on the incidence and management of post-traumatic seizures following GSWH in children. I also helped prepare our results for publication and presentation at the 2024 Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting. Currently, I am helping design a study of how intracranial pressure monitoring may influence the intensity of care and clinical outcomes for children who have sustained GSWH.

I recorded ultrasound footage of regional anesthesia administration in 25+ patients about to undergo the same surgical procedure. I video-analyzed the quality of each administered nerve block. Combined with data on the quantity of pain medication provided to each patient to ensure their comfort after the surgery, I helped assess whether a new route for administering regional anesthesia minimized post-op pain more effectively than the accepted standard route.
