About Jonas Hellgoth

"Data is everywhere!"After gaining broad knowledge in natural sciences in a biotechnology program I specialized in bioinformatics with additional lectures in computer science and mathematics. Now I am working at the inteface of biology and machine learning.I strongly believe that decisions should be knowledge-based. This data-based knowledge generated in a scientific setting should be the basis of any decision taken by an individual, a society, or humankind as a whole. Let it be environmental, social, health-related, or economical decisions, data is everywhere. That is why I am interested in machine learning (ML) and data science, especially in deep learning.I am most experienced with, but not limited, to imaging data. I enjoy both, developing new approaches/algorithms/methods and applying them to actual problems. It is important to me that my work has an impact and/or helps other people/researchers. Thus, open science is a must and I try to make my work publically available, which at the same time trains my software developemnet skills.
