Graduate Engineer
CurrentAs a graduate engineer at CGL, I have supervised and helped initiate multiple phases of ground investigation (GI) on construction projects across the UK, from energy projects on the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands to housing and flood defence projects across London and the south-east of England. While working for CGL I obtained my CSCS and First Aid qualifications and developed essential industry skills in data collection methodologies essential for informing the initial phases of construction, these include: - Sedimentary logging to BS 5930:2015- Geophysical data collection using both active and passive Tromino observations. - Window/windowless sampling.- Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) use and associated Californian Bearing Ratio (CBR) calculation.- Observation and data collection from Cable Percussive (CP) and Window sample rigs. - Data collection from Plate Loading tests.- Location identification via Trimble data entry. - Soakaway observation and data processing. - Soil sampling and scheduling for both mechanical and environmental testing. - GIS map construction via QGIS.- Service drawings from Trial Pit (TP) construction. - Hand Shear Vane (HSV) testing of cohesive sediment.
