I have worked since age 12. I began working as a farmhand in rural west KY, which taught me responsibility and team work. Later in high school, I worked for a local boat dealership and continued there thru college. I did my ESH Internship at VMV Enterprises in Paducah, KY. Following my summer internship, I was hired as the 2nd Shift ESH Supervisor. I graduated Murray State University in Murray, KY May 2001 with a RAC-ABET Accredited Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety & Health. I was hired at Mid-South Towing Company in June 2001 as Safety & Training Coordinator. I held that position for 10+ yrs doing everything from Claims Management, Employee Training, Policy/Procedure Implementation, and Internal Auditing. I was hired at Hunter Marine Transport (now Hines Furlong Line, Inc) as Manager of Safety, Training & Vessel Compliance in Fall 2011. I have all responsibility for Safety, Compliance and some Risk Management for 24 vessels and 300+ employees. I had attained Associate Safety Professional (ASP) in 2006 and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in 2009 but have not renewed. I am a current Member of AWO-RCP Standards Board, as well as Vice President of Marine Compliance Alliance in the inland towing marine industry.
