Iconeme is a technology and design company offering real-world solutions to technicaland practical problems.For the retail market, Iconeme has developed the VMBeacon, which aims to bridgethe gap between the digital world and the experience of shopping in store.The VMBeacon is technology which enables mannequins and visual merchandisingequipment in a shop window, or within an in-store environment, to communicateinformation to customers via a smartphone app. This is the first time this technology has been designed specifically for visual merchandising and is a leap forward in terms of digital innovation on the high street.The VMBeacon is installed within a store mannequin or display and is then updated withinformation from the retailer. When a customer with an enabled app is within range ofthe mannequin, they will receive an automatic alert regarding the content they canaccess.The app gives customers access to information about the clothes and accessoriesdisplayed on a store mannequin, plus prices and links to purchase the items from eitherthe retailer’s website, or where they can be found in store.The customer can see more detailed photos and descriptions of the items plus save looksfor later or share with friends.The VMBeacon can also send the customer offers and rewards relating to the storethey’re in and location, so there are lots of possibilities.Founding team:The Iconeme team are entrepreneurs Jonathan Berlin and Adrian Coe, who together haveover 50 years’ experience in the retail industry.Jonathan is also Managing Director and Adrian is Creative Director of Universal Display, aleading manufacturer of mannequins and retail display products.As Universal Display, the team already work with a number of top high street retailers,including BHS, Monsoon, Harvey Nichols and Arcadia Group and have extensiveexperience and knowledge in this area.
