At OAG I lead a team of lawyers defending litigation brought against the District of Columbia.

 Led case teams in numerous complex commercial disputes including MDL and class-action litigations, arbitrations, and investigations by state and federal regulators.o First and second chair experience in trials and arbitrations; first chair in over a dozen evidentiary hearings.o Argued appeals and dozens of motions; chief author and editor of dozens of briefs.o Evaluated and analyzed litigation, and devised and implemented strategy in high-profile, multi-jurisdictional litigation and pre-litigation matters.o Counseled client executives and Board members concerning litigation strategy, risk assessment, and settlement strategy.o Led defense efforts through collaboration with cross-functional teams including client (in-house counsel and executives), local counsel, co-counsel, co-defendants, and fact and expert witnesses.o Managed and supervised case teams, including organizing work assignments, reviewing and revising work product, and providing guidance and feedback.o Set litigation budgets, with oversight responsibilities over fees and costs.o Conducted and managed all aspects of discovery and electronic discovery.o Negotiated settlements with private and government plaintiffs; experienced in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Advised device, food, and pharmaceutical manufacturers, in dozens of matters, regarding compliance with the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA) and related regulations. “Faculty” for in-firm litigation training programs. Pro bono cases have involved asylum, housing rights, abatement of drug nuisances, and reform of child placement procedures.
