Qualified to degree level with as BSc honours in Mechanical Engineering I have a strong numerate/analytical background with nearly 10 years experience working in Engineering at Rolls Royce and 15 years in IT working for DXC, formally CSC, a global Computer Service company.  Prior to this I spent several years at Bombardier as a System Administrator of PDM, Bombardier’s document management system, before being out sourced to CSC.I have recently taken redundancy from DXC following the transfer of my work away from Derby and now work for Severn Trent in the Billing team.  This is a demanding role in a fast paced work environment requiring me to deliver an efficient and effective service whilst still ensuring the best customer service at all times.  Dealing with challenging customers also requires a good understanding of the barriers to communication and the continually need to ask questions to clarify information.  At DXC/CSC I worked in both Support and Project roles.As a Support Engineer my role was both reactive, working to resolve system faults through analysis and investigation and proactive, monitoring system utilisation and performance, and reporting both on a regular and ad hoc basis as requested. This included work on the NHS account on the database servers holding patient data requiring appropriate security clearance and as awareness of the importance of patient confidentiality learnt through Information Governance training.More recently I had a Project role including work on site information audits, where I was responsible for the provision of accurate data and follow up remediation work to ensure site security compliance. Leveraged across multiple accounts and working a system of self assignment, I was required to prioritise my work ensuring that all stakeholders were fully informed of any change to the agreed timescales due to competing work.Initially in a design role at Rolls Royce and latterly in Purchasing I was responsible for the issue and management of equipment Purchase Orders ensuring Project delivery to budget, timescale and quality and adherence to all relevant and applicable processed and procedures.I'm happiest when working/interacting with other people and my roles have always required me to work closely with my colleagues, line and project managers and 3rd party Vendors, ensuring clear communication at all times both verbally and in writing.
