Started working on the day shift in October 2022 for the 2022/23 lobster season where I was grading lobsters daily.In late December I switched over to the packing crew (night shift) where we pack lobsters into boxes or totes for shipments overseas, following strict CFIA regulations.During my time on night shift, I completed a forklift certification course and was the person responsible for loading the trucks, and transporting live lobster for packing.For the off-season I worked elsewhere due to shortage of work, however, returned to Independent Fisheries for the 2023/24 lobster season.

During my time at Kangaroo, I would simply pickup food orders at many different restaurants and proceed to deliver to customers. I was responsible for ensuring I would make the most efficient route to deliver the varied temperature orders so they were fresh upon delivery.The business closed down in May of 2022, hence loss of employment.

Early on I was trained as one of the bakers to complete my cross training, alongside being a supervisor for the evening shift. Near the 6 month mark I was given a key and started the 4am-12pm shift where I was in charge of opening the store, counting/changing tills, cleaning machinery, and simple prep for staff. Within my last few months at the company, we switched to a new Training & Food Production App. Thanks to my technical experience, I was in-charge of configuring all of the user logins for staff and adding all of our products into the system. During this time I was trained for many management duties. Some examples are: I would handle refunds, alongside fixing the POS & debit systems whenever they malfunctioned amongst many other tasks.Relocated to Yarmouth.
