I am currently a doctoral candidate in the College of Education at the University of Florida pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics education. In addition to my major area of study, I completed minors in Research and Evaluation Methodologies and Educational Psychology. Preparation in each of these areas enhances my versatility as a future faculty member in a tenure-track position at an institution. My professional goals as a future assistant professor are (1) to develop a strong line of inquiry focusing on contexts that foster mathematical thinking and learning, specifically those that promote problem solving and/or facility with multiple strategies, (2) support the department and university by providing high quality mathematics and mathematics education instruction to undergraduate and graduate students, and (3) provide service to local, state, regional groups, such as local K-12 teachers and groups as national organizations.
