After more than three decades in the newspaper industry, I've developed extensive skills in language and a wide and varied body of general knowledge. My primary focus has been "hard" news -- politics, national/global current events -- but I've handled content that runs the gamut: science, medicine, finance, arts, sports. I specialize in precision editing, whittling out excess verbiage, jargon and commonly misused/overused words without cutting into the meat of a story. I write compelling headlines in tight specs, as well as active, informative photo captions.
