Oversee a portfolio of 20 technical assistance projects. Scope projects, develop budgets, determine staff assignments, manage grants that support projects, and review deliverables. Evaluate the performance of grantees, contractors, and staff. Build and maintain relationships with elected and appointed officials, the private sector, developers, and the public to ensure technical assistance projects meet grant requirements and community needs. Managed approximately $9.5 million in HOME, CDBG, and NSP grants received by Lake County. Worked with predominantly low- and moderate-income communities to develop projects and programs that increased the supply of affordable housing in ways that leveraged other ongoing efforts, such as targeted code enforcement and housing counseling. Collaborated with municipal officials, advocates, social service providers, and affordable housing developers on programs that generated more than 100 affordable units in less than two years.

Provided professional planning services to public and private clients throughout New Jersey. Served as the firm’s lead affordable housing planner, creating and implementing affordable housing plans for more than 18 municipalities, including those involved in litigation. Such pro-active planning allowed communities to demonstrate the development of state-required affordable housing, reduce or eliminate the risk of litigation, and improve relations with affordable housing advocates. Reviewed site plan and subdivision applications requiring use and bulk variances for urban, suburban, and rural communities. Conducted community planning sessions in more than 10 different municipalities that brought together residents, businesses, and elected officials to develop shared action steps. Managed a five-member team to develop a new comprehensive plan for a suburban community of more than 100,000.
