HP steam system designed for slug loads, Boiler Feed Water piping designed for pressure surge. Each analysis proved effectiveness of pipe supports and ensured piping system will not to place any undue forces/moments onto vessels, load sensitive equipment. Verification of welded attachments.

For this role, I was employed to lead the piping/mechanical teams and also to perform piping stress analysis for a Classified Sellafield Project. Provide man-hour estimates and manpower resourcing, schedule and budget planning. Attended design/model reviews and HAZOP meetings. All piping systems are designed to meet the ASME B31.3 Code requirements when subjected to Sustained, Hydro-test, Differential Settlement and thermal expansion. The piping systems are also screened for Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) and for acoustically induced vibration (AIV) and fatigue assessments.

Employed to perform piping stress activities on the aging Dunlin Alpha platform, which is situated in the North Sea. Flow-lines designed to meet the requirements of ASME 31.3 with the aid of Caesar II 2013 R1. Flow lines designed to accommodate vertical growth of +127mm and lateral growth, due to wave motion of +/- 45mm. Fatigue assessment, flange bending moments and slug loads also included in the analysis. Part of the flow line analysis also included part of the existing facility for boundary conditions. Additional responsibilities included design substantiation reports to verify the existing facility was still acceptable.

This was a modular design compromising water separation, gas treatment, gas compression and water injection. The design of the piping systems was compounded by the environment conditions, the stage build and by the number of interfaces between Contractors.
