During my internship I assisted the Prevention Through Education program in delivering internal and external training, educational workshops, and community programming intended to positively promote awareness on domestic violence, dating abuse, healthy relationships, and intimate partner violence within the LGBTQ+ community; developed social media content relevant to the topics previously mentioned; promoted ADV programs and services through participation in community events, and supported and assisted the Office of LGBTQ+ Services by developing website content.

During my time in the Violence Intervention Prevention Center, I facilitated and presented workshops such as Affirmative Consent and Human Trafficking to 100+ students; provided immediate support, connection, and referrals to resources through supportive services and prevention programs with non-profit organizations in Bergen County such as YWCA Healing Space and Bergen County LGBTQ+ Alliance; tabled several fundraisers to raise awareness about interpersonal violence and stalking, as well as LGBTQIA+ discrimination; built strong connections in Bergen County dedicated to help student survivors with organizations such as Division of Alternatives to Domestic Violence and The Stephanie Nicole Parze Foundation, and by the end of my staying, I represented VIP by being a member of the panel on the 5th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Symposium in New Milford High School, dedicated to spreading awareness in dating violence.
