Two-person team tasked with developing a completely new method of metal 3D-printing (Patent Published).- Successfully led pitches to 10 potential industry partners (Lufthansa Technik, 3D Systems, Thales) involving technical and commercial discussions regarding the novel method. - Prepared and presented regular progress and technical reports to key stakeholders.- Led technical discussions in the onboarding of Irish Manufacturing Research to advance the project as a joint venture in future funded stages.- Prepared a successful funding application which secured an additional 24 months of funding worth €900,000, the largest commercialisation funding received by Trinity College to date. - Successfully demonstrated process feasibility with an initial €200,000 funding awarded by Enterprise Ireland.- Sole designer of a 3D printing prototype machine used for experimentation, created and presented an animation of the working prototype to key stakeholders using SolidWorks.- Sole designer of a pilot scale machine which automates production of 3D printing material and improves process efficiency. Completed ahead of schedule in under half of the 10 month allocated time frame.- Produced risk assessments, analysed equipment data sheets, sourced and conducted supplier negotiations and procured research materials using Oracle.- Assessed 3D printing market research reports and developed a commercial strategy identifying three potential revenue streams for a future spinout company.
