Delivering engagement and consultation for the MAG Manchester, East Midlands and London Stansted Airport Future Airspace projects. My work involves progression of CAP1616 on the FASI projects at all three airports, SID truncation, removing reliance on ground based navigational aids through DVOR substitution (in accordance with CAP1781) and other measures to improve operational resilience.

Worked closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders from across all parts of MAG to track and maintain progress against the suite of commitments in the MAG CSR Strategy –gathering and analysing data to present high-quality CSR performance reports which track progress against the CSR Strategy and inform decision making by leaders. In addition to tracking the delivery of targets in the MAG CSR Strategy, I took the lead in MAG’s public and regulatory compliance reporting, producing a suite of reports, and overseeing submissions for independent verification and certification, to protect and enhance MAG’s reputation.

Was part of a multi award winning team that discharged Corporate Social Responsibility at Manchester Airport. This involved managing and positively influencing the relationship between the Airport and the communities that surround the site. We also identified opportunities for Airport colleagues to develop themselves at the same time as supporting our neighbouring communities.I was primarily responsible for maintaining proactive and reactive communications with the local community and reporting our performance. I ensured communications were maintained with elected members, key stakeholders, and complainants through face-to-face meetings, newsletters, data sheets, reports, film clips, letters, and e-mails. I gained experience in working in difficult and challenging situations, and developed skills and mechanisms to manage conflict sensitively and confidently.

I worked to monitor and report the track keeping and noise of aircraft using Manchester Airport. This work involved working with pilots to improve their airlines performance for the positive benefit of those living close by. During my time in the role I oversaw an improvement in aircraft adherence to the departure routes from 92 to 98% compliance. The role also involved calibrating and overseeing the maintenance of the noise monitoring infrastructure to ensure compliance with environmental regulations/requirements and a Section 106 Planning Agreement. As Environment Services Officer I also monitored and reported on the performance of aircraft using Bristol/Manston Airports as part of a consultancy service to these Airports. This required the calibration, maintenance, and development of their monitoring infrastructures.

Worked as part of a team before and after the opening of Runway 2 to maintain positive communication (face-to-face, by telephone, e-mail, and letter) with those living close to Manchester Airport. At that time, I was involved in planning and delivering the first mobile Outreaches to ensure face-to-face dialogue in communities that were soon to see changes because of the opening of Runway 2.

Worked as part of a team to support the companies Ground Transport Strategy and Green Commuter Plan. Work involved the reporting of performance against mode share targets and positive actions to encourage use of car sharing, public transport, cycling and walking.During my placement I was involved in the marketing and delivery of the Ground Transport Interchange (GTI), now known as 'The Station' and the establishment of a new community bus link that received a national award.
