As the Director of Industry, I worked with the rest of the executive board and more Importantly, the members of the organization to coordinate events and outreach that Involve various leaders in industry in the surrounding area. This includes but is not limited to organizing tours of laboratory spaces of faculty researchers here on the University of Florida campus, arranging for industry leaders who work in private companies to come in and speak to our members, giving them more information on potential career options that lay outside of academia and pure research, and providing resources for our members so that they can fully foster their career in whatever way appeals to them the most. I took on the responsibility of providing the best information I can for our members regarding what I believe to be the most important part of their undergraduate career: deciding what exactly to do with the degree that they have worked so hard to obtain

The main objective of my research lab is to build open-source models of the human wrist and ankle and utilizing them to examine complex human activities. Working off this, the various components of the human wrist and ankle must be accurately imaged and visualized so that the proper calculations, simulations, and conclusions can be constructed about the mechanics of the wrist and ankle. At this moment, I am determining the validity of our measurement techniques using ultrasound and of our actual ultrasound Machine through the use of agar gel phantoms. In the future I plan on moving onto imaging live human subjects in real time, utilizing the data I collect to assist in creating an accurate and scalable model of the wrist joint and its respective muscles, tendons, and ligaments that will allow us to visualize a wide variety of movements in addition to assisting in the process of formulating possible diagnoses of particular pathologies.

Assisted and cooperated with an overseeing Geriatrician in delivering impactful health care to elderly patients. Was able to participate first-hand in the complexities of providing the patient’s with meaningful medical attention. Following the one-on-one patient care, I was then granted the opportunity to personally meet with my overseeing physician and have pointed discussion regarding the patients and the significance of their cases as well as the reasoning behind the final decisions that were made.
