Work various long term projects for Cable and IPTV customers focused on architecture, unified distribution, linear ad splicing, content manipulation/management, aggregation, grooming, muxing and redundancy. This role often includes taking technical lead on various parts of the project while supporting the PM and product BU. Tasks include interfacing directly with engineering, being the liaison between engineering and the customer, giving technical updates and briefings to technical and executive audiences, writing of MOPs, customer requirements, high level and high detail design documents. Role also includes hands on for the full life cycle of the project; from concept, design, specification of hardware/software, beta testing, POC, lab testing and certification, first field installation, field deployment, transfer of information/training and any post-install support that may be needed.

Sr. Sales Engineer Video Specialist: Supported sales team for encoding solutions for IPTV customers. Worked with the various account teams to provide subject matter expertise in video compression and distribution. Sr. Product Marketing Engineer: Moved into a custom created role within the video compression business unit that was product focused. The role blurred the lines of pre-sales, system integration and product support in the IPTV, cable and satellite markets. I was tasked with the support of any encoder customer worldwide, with any need at any time. Tasks included encoder sales solutions, shoot outs, system installations, the laison between engineering and the customer for new feature requests, restoration of customer confidence through resolution of complex operational issues. Customers included HBO, ESPN, Discovery, Weather, Scripps, EcoStar, Verizon, Time Warner, AT&T, Telia, T-Systems, Centurylink and many other satellite and telco customers.

1996-1998 Joined Crawford Satellite as an RF Engineer. The wide range of responsibilities included the construction and maintenance of large aperture antennas, the maintenance of transmitters, uplink/SNG trucks, master control suites and the teleport itself. 1998-1999 Completed Cisco CCIE courses so that I could install turn key IP-over-satellite remote earth stations world wide. Additionally I took on the administrative role for the company network. 1999-2000 Performed the roles of a system architect for satellite data services, Sr. Systems Administrator and Manager of the 24/7 support desk for data services. 2001-2003 Was promoted to Director of IT. Took over the role of all internal IT related services as well as continued to manage the technical side for the external Data Services division. Merged the 24/7 support desk with the internal IT staff and provided full time support for the company as well as the customers.
