I am a senior lecturer at the University of Sheffield, specialising in power electronics especially for power conversion, instrumentation and thermal management.I studied both my MEng and PhD at Sheffield, graduating in 2010 and 2015 respectively. Following my PhD, I worked briefly as a postdoctoral research associate before being appointed lecturer in September 2015 as part of new team of academics to develop a degree in General Engineering, and senior lecturer in January 2022.My research interests cover a range of interdisciplinary themes centred on power electronic systems. I have lately been working on resonant power converters using piezoelectric transformers (ceramic devices that can displace magnetic transformers in converters), high voltage converters for plasma chemistry and integrated magnetics design. I also ahve intersts in innstrumentation for water systems, battery management and thermal management of power electronics. My work is supported by the EPSRC, innovateUK and other funders.
