o Responsibilities include utilizing Solid Edge CAD 3D modeling software to design projects for numerous company customers, including designing products from initial concept to production. Emphasis is put on designing parts for manufacturability and ease of assembly. o Extensive experience with designing machined parts, sheet metal parts, plastic molded parts, and cast metal parts.o Responsible for creating accurate draft prints of designed parts using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles that can be read and interpreted easily. Conduct a detailed review of draft prints before their release to ensure there are no missing dimensions needed for production and assembly and assuring all information is concise and accurate.o Responsible for ensuring the bill of materials for full system and subsystem assemblies are complete and accurate.o Projects include, but are not limited to, telecommunications chassis, outside plant equipment, and optical testing devices and machines. o Regularly perform finite element analyses using the Patran and Nastran Finite Element Analysis (FEA) package, built into Solid Edge, to ensure the structural integrity of each design. o Frequently interface with customers to ensure that the design is meeting or exceeding all requirements, ensuring the customer receives an optimal product that meets all expectations.

o Responsible for updating CAD drawing files of all treestands from 2D drawings in SmartSketch to 3D models in Solid Edge and creating draft prints for each treestand. Assisted with the design and prototyping of a new ladder treestand that later went on to full production.o Responsible for creating Solid Edge CAD drawings of Game Calls for Knight and Hale, a sister company to Summit Treestands.o Assisted with the successful development and testing of a treestand made of composite materials such as carbon fiber and Kevlar.o Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a digital database of treestand test results from previous years’ designs. o Developed a concept design and initial prototype for a game crane, which is used to easily lift heavy loads such as a deer into a truck bed.

o Responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineers with their day-to-day operations. Created part schematics and updated layouts for the machine operators to use for creating parts. o Organized and labeled tooling stations that held tools commonly used by the machinists to increase efficiency and usability. o Updated and posted LEAN Manufacturing metrics on the bulletin boards in each section of the plant. These were used to encourage worker efficiency by providing a visual reference to the amount of product being made.
