I graduated with my Master's program in Chemistry from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2022. I have a strong research background with expertise in Organic Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Instrumental Analysis.During my research at Rochester Institute of Technology in the summer of 2019, I enhanced my technological skills using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GS-MS), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. I have experimented with the analysis of anthraquinones in native and invasive leaves from Rhamnaceae species in Monroe County in New York State. The objective of this research was to identify the quantities of five classic anthraquinones in leaf tissues. I performed a triplicate extraction of three different leaves in Rhamnaceae species, and I quantified the five classic anthraquinones and compared their concentration in June and July 2019. At the end of summer 2019, I researched the total synthesis of trocheliophorolide A with Dr. Goudreau at Rochester Institute of Technology. I learned how to synthesize and run the organic reaction after developing the lab methods with traditional lab equipment, carefully handled the reaction with hydride under the fume hood, such as LiH and DiBAL-H, and calculated the quantities of starting materials and expected products in a lab notebook. Also, I enhanced my instrumental skills to manipulate Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) with desired products and determine the structures of desired compounds in 1D H NMR spectra. My expertise in running instrumentations and chemical analyses has improved and prepared me for future lab experience.As of now, I am enthusiastic to work at an organic chemical and/or biopharmaceutical company where I can carry my lab experiences into a research laboratory to expand my scientific knowledge and instrumental skills.
