I work in the intersection between Engineering, Production, R&D, and Software for optomechanical systems. I am interested in exploring ways to more efficiently and cheaply manufacture, build, align, and qualify optical systems.I am also an adjunct professor at the University of Rochester, co-teaching a course on Optomechanical System Design. This course can be taken as a remote course through The Institute of Optics' HOME program.I have also served on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Precision Engineering and as the Chair of the Metrology Systems TLC. I was a past Associate Editor for Optics Express from Optica Publishing and Precision Engineering from Elsevier.Formerly, I was a tenured Associate Professor of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona. Prior to that, I was a tenured Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester.
