I began my career in admissions with responsibilities for reading applications and rendering admission decisions, overseeing student volunteers, delivering self-developed information sessions, overseeing scholarships, and coordinating open houses. A whole slew of the conventional activities for the time. Then I discovered someone in a corner office doing what she called, "enrollment analytics" and I was intrigued. I plunked myself down to apprentice with her and that was it for me - I had discovered "enrollment management." In taking on this analyst role, I got to be in the room with the Senior VP, Dean of Admissions, and Director of IR to make final determinations on admitting the class at a selective university - in my first year. I was hooked. I fell in love with the combination of analysis, strategy, experience, and judgment that are the hallmarks of this enthralling profession. From there, my path included forming the Enrollment Strategy office at Brandeis University, eventually leaving to build a recruitment modeling service at Maguire Associates, moving to Fire Engine RED to help them build out a search offering from its infancy, and eventually to being part of the startup of Whiteboard Higher Education, where I was the architect for building our Student Search offering from scratch. I had the absolute privilege and joy of working with our amazing team at Whiteboard for nearly a decade, and am forever proud of what we accomplished. At the end of 2021, our founder sold Whiteboard to Huron Consulting Group, a large public organization, where I stayed for two years to lead the recruitment offerings until the time when my philosophy of recruitment no longer aligned with their vision for these services.Today, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with businesses and institutions on any variety of projects, needs, or other recruitment & enrollment initiatives.
