My current role is a Customer Relations agent based in the Falkirk contact centre. I started with the business as an airline agent, making bookings and servicing existing bookings. I was then asked to join the flight only group bookings team. At the time the business decided to change the booking systems. Myself and a few other co-workers decided to build an admin team to support the system issues we faced. Gaining knowledge of the background GDS system Amadeus to help pin point the issues and source the problems. this went on for around 5 months until the system issues were worked out. The business decided to move me to a sector called Flexible trips. This is Thomas Cooks custom build package holidays. using many suppliers and making the dream holiday for our customers. Within this side of the business we have access to over 25 different booking management systems including a couple of GDS systems. Galileo was the main one and Edwin was used rarely. I volunteered for a position within Thomas cooks Customer Relations team. I have been in this side of the business for 4 months now and enjoying the amount of experience and knowledge this side brings to the travel industry. Dealing with flight delay claims and making the right decision to retain our customers loyalty and returning business.

Working with this independent coffee shop, I specialised with use of the espresso machine. Making coffees, hot and cold drinks to suit a vast menu and serving hot and cold snacks to customers. Their was a massive tea collection with more than 40 varieties and flavours, gaining knowledge of tea was quite interesting. I was also a key holder for the business,opening and closing the shop was a massive responsibility for me and great trust from the business owner.

Working in the golf clubs restaurant as a waiter and keeping on top of the dishes. Primary role was dealing with customers using table service and serving food. Also taking bookings and asking the relevant information required for functions or large tables. Use of the espresso machine was my favourite. I was given the responsibility to lock up the restaurant when it closed, this entailed cashing up the till, full deep clean of the dishwasher area, setting tables for the next day, signing off the close down procedure paperwork, full lock down of the kitchen and restaurant area, Then passing on the relevant information to the bar staff.

Duties and responsibility’s • Assisting with student arrivals and departures.• Delivering an initial welcome briefing to students. • Ongoing promotion of activities and encouragement of student participation.• Conducting daily meetings with students after lessons to communicate information regarding activity choices, meeting times and places and upcoming events.• Attending and running all activities for my group. • Collecting money for bus passes and optional excursions.• Monitoring daily attendance and keeping up to date records and paperwork.• Attending all leader meetings.• Participating in the duty rotas when required.• Ensuring the EF behaviour code is followed by students at all times and informing management immediately if there are any issues or problems.• Dealing with problems and emergency situations should they arise.
