Current• Direct a large and growing unit of eviction-defense attorneys implementing New York City’s Right to Counsel law to provide legal representation to all low-income tenants being evicted in Housing Court. • Supervise a management team of 12 supervising attorneys and oversee a unit of over 90 attorneys and paralegals. Expanded unit from a staff of about 25 in January 2017 to 92 presently.• Developed and refined, with input from staff at all levels, an intricate and standardized structured interviewing process to recruit numerous supervisors, staff attorneys, and paralegals. • Oversee and create trainings for staff attorneys and paralegals. • Manage the operation and compliance of four separate contracts with a combined budget of over $11 million. • Discuss legal strategy in complex cases on a regular basis with supervising attorneys and staff attorneys, especially appellate matters, cases that are in Supreme Court and cases that involve claims or defenses related anti-discrimination laws. • Guide, mentor, and discipline attorneys and paralegals in need of support and oversee the unit’s new hire review and annual review process.
