Associate Failure Analysis Engineer

Acton, Massachusetts, United States

Conducted over 2000 investigations of returned drug delivery devices. Each investigation relied upon functional knowledge of device sub-assemblies as well as the ability to interpret device data. The purpose of each investigation was to establish if the returned product functioned as intended or if any defects/damages Impacted operation. After conducting a thorough investigation, any and all findings were captured within the EQMSDespite no prior training in electrical engineering, I taught myself how to read the wiring schematics for all product families. As a result of my findings the testing process was changed to accommodate a PCBA test protocol.Created a lean software quality testing process. After observing breakdowns in communication between developers and other cross-functional teams, I leveraged the Agile environment to remedy the disconnects. After changing and reorganizing the interface to better align with the process, Agile became the source of truth where enhancements could be captured, prioritized, and documented. Recommended logics and UI enhancements to meet the needs of end users.Conducted a deep dive into the device software protocols to gain better insight as to how certain alarms are triggered to better orient the investigation process.Met with EU partners to establish international product return routes. Based on information gathered from various personnel, I built logistics flows that mapped the country-specific B2B and B2C interactions for all North American and European Markets.

Quality Systems Coordinator

Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

As a QS Coordinator I acted as an intermediary between the Corporate Document Control and Training and Development departments. I was initially hired as “a pair for fresh eyes” to examine TAD department processes and gain an intimate understanding of the Learning Management System (LMS) so that I would be equipped to make recommendations for a future global LMS. Per ISO 13485 I maintained the corporate training environment to ensure personnel across North America received appropriate training materials to remain in compliance. Conducted root cause analysis and analyzed previous unknown gaps in software. I worked with upper management to design better process flows that made more efficient use of software functionality.Ran analytics reports for purposes of gaining insights derived from data and fulfilling audit report requests. When the Quality Analyst on staff went on maternity leave I became the primary reporting analyst. I was a vital member of the team responsible for developing the WIs, SOPs, and Forms that would define the global training implementation process. These documents were crafted to allow maximum flexibility for site-level processes while also ensuring that all sites operated under the same training and documentation practices.Under the direction of the Global Director of Documentation and Training, I conducted usability tests to assess the constraints of current LMS and establish which functionalities must be available in a prospective new system. as a result of my findings during these tests, i was recruited to assist in writing the URS for a future state LMS. My conclusions were captured and used by senior level management to make an informed cost-benefit analysis as to what system would best meet the needs for a global training audience.
