About Jonathan Gill

It all started when playing bicycle polo with Jeremy Clarkson in Hyde Park. Sharing a passion for cars, Clarkson and Gill shared a few ales, hatched the Motoring Press Agency and started supplying weekly road tests and automotive news to a network of nationwide newspapers. As the big, wide world now knows, Clarkson quickly became a TV star while Gill evolved the MPA business into one of the country's top automotive marketing, communications and PR business with a mega-impressive client list both in the UK and internationally. At its height – and with a staff of close to 50 plus a multi-million pound turn-over – MPA was gobbled up by the John Brown Group. Having helped with the take-over, Gill and fellow MPA director Deborah Tee were determined to get back to the good old days and thus formed a new communications company based on many of the original agency's principles and skills. MPA Creative once again puts the emphasis on job satisfaction and thus a silly amount of over delivery... much to the delight of its clients!

    MPA Creative was founded in 2009 when two former MPA Fingal Directors – Jonathan Gill and Deborah Tee – left the John Brown Group. The new creative communications company retained several major clients including PR responsibilities for the British Touring Car Championship (the UK's premier motor racing series) and the Motor Sports Association (the UK's governing body for all four-wheeled motor sport). Since then MPA Creative has expanded and today's client roster includes BARC, Croft Circuit, Dunlop, FIA World Rallycross Championship, International Motor Sports, London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, London Classic Car Championship, Regent Street Motor Show, Silverstone Classic and Dayinsure Wales Rally GB as well as its long-running roles for both the BTCC and MSA.As from January 2018, Jonathan Gill relinquished his directorship in MPA Creative but remains very much an almost full-time consultant overseeing a number of the key accounts.

Clients included: Aston Martin, Bentley, BTCC, BMW, Honda, Honda F1, Jaguar, JCB, Land Rover, MINI, Philips, Rolls Royce, Silverstone, Williams F1 and many, many more... MPA Fingal was purchased by John Brown Group in 2007. Two years later Gill left John Brown and formed MPA Creative with fellow former MPA Fingal director Deborah Tee.

    The Motoring Press Agency was the somewhat grand sounding company set up by Jonathan Gill and Jeremy Clarkson fundamentally to provide motoring editorial for regional newspapers. In reality, however, it was two car loving blokes and an Amstrad called HAL. The partnership quickly flourished into the multi-dimensional MPA Fingal adding design, creative and interactive functions to the original agency's somewhat limited offering... though retaining its strong links to both the automotive and motor sport industries. Clarkson departed for the wider world of television shortly after the creation of MPA Fingal.
