Hands Free Hectare has been the most recent project and boldest attempted fusing automation, agronomy and agriculture together operating drones and drone technology to achieve a world’s first.

2018 Nuffield Scholar asking the question ‘How do we embrace automation in agriculture?’ and intend to travel across the world to see technologies that have been used and help prepare for the Automation revolution.

My research position has me focus my time on two major projects: 'Hyper Weeding'​ using Lasers to target and focus upon weeds, to reduce the need for herbicides, and 'Bale Logistics'​ working with a Bale Transtacker to reduce the compaction upon the field when collecting bales.I am also a active member of the National Centre of Precision Farming UAS Special Interest Group working to integrate UAS's or 'Drones within Agriculture' with twitter account @highobs & @AgDroningIn My Spare time I also fly Multi-rotors and Planes for HighObs.

Visiting Researcher at National Centre for Precision FarmingCurrently I am self employed as a visiting researcher at Harper Adams, researching new possibilities of integrating UAS’s (Unmanned Aerial Systems) within precision farming and improving existing solutions. I am a qualified UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) pilot with a BNUC-s (Basic National Unmanned Systems) qualification and I am fully insured to fly in the UK for commercial purposes with Permission for aerial work from the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority). My UAS started out as a 6 Rotor Hexa-copter designed and constructed by myself to carry a payload of up to 1KG (for example, a camera geared up for IR photography).The research I got involved with at HA was on using UAV as a mechanism to take sensors airborne to a vantage point over agricultural land and fields. Capturing this information could help improve the productivity of agriculture and reduce costs by monitoring pests and disease and signs of nutrient deficiencies that can produce visible signs of stress within the plants. The outcome of this is to provide an economic service that could aid the future of agriculture.
