To develop pro-active Intelligence reporting and information sharing based on the National Intelligence Model (NIM), to assist in combatting economic crime. Identify and report on companies, officers, professional enablers and others involved in suspicious activity on the UK companies register and share actionable intelligence with relevant.

• A senior management role, leading a team of 7 sergeants and 30 controllers, with responsibility for their day-to-day management and briefing them on appropriate tactics in the event of a major incident:
• Managing all critical incidents in the East of Scotland, which can range from hate crimes to crimes of violence and includes any incident which could have a significant impact on the victim, family or community.
• As an Initial Tactical Firearms Commander, I have responsibility for declaring a firearms incident, making decisions on tactics, briefing firearms officers and skilfully managing these high risk incidents and.
• Making rapid and dynamic assessments of available information from multiple sources, and making threat-led, evidence based decisions under pressure that will stand up to scrutiny.
• Preparing and communicating detailed accounts to senior officers (Chief Superintendent/Assistant Chief Constable) post incident.

• Responsible for the day-to-day command of incidents:
• In control of the command and ongoing management of incidents, both routine and critical, successfully allocating resources, managing pursuits and acting in a responsive way to partners’ expectations.
• Communicated with and highlighted any incidents of concern to the Inspector-in-Charge.

• Managing the care and security of individuals in custody:
• Managed a team and had responsibility for identifying poor custody centre practices across East of Scotland and driving improvements – travelling extensively to achieve this.
• Recommended achievable and practical ways to improve working practices, such as reducing overtime costs and improving efficiency when ordering supplies.
• Developed relationships with and worked alongside custody staff to ensure risk assessments were taking place, high standards were consistently met and that those in custody were always kept safe.

• In charge of 4 primary custody centres with more than 100 members of staff in total. My people management responsibilities included all absence, disciplinary and budget challenges. I also carried out thorough.
• A key part of this role was liaison with the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC), for example through providing them with CCTV access and statements.

Sole point of contact for all custody centres throughout Scotland, I provided critical support to issues such as high-profile custodies, custodies requiring hospitalisation and deaths in custody- demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and sound decision making.

Managing the busiest custody centre in Scotland, I led a large team of officers, ensured each individual in custody was risk assessed and had an appropriate plan in place for their time at the centre.

As Staff Sergeant to the Divisional Commander of the Edinburgh Police Division, I ensured that the Commander was always fully briefed and up to date with the necessary facts about important cases.Successfully managed all police complaints and joined forces with our partners to successfully deliver our policing plan.

As Community Sergeant I worked alongside our partners, reducing crime and fear of crime through close collaboration and robust action planning. Engaged with youth groups to promote a positive image of the police and responded quickly to developing crime trends including drug related issues and anti-social behaviour.

Supervised a team of several officers and co-ordinating our response to immediate and urgent police calls. Ensured that all officers were fully briefed on crime trends and latest updates before going on patrol and supported them in their decision-making.

On promotion to Sergeant, I was tasked with supporting the learning of new police officers in both the classroom and practically. Drawing on my experience as a police officer I ensured that each probationary officer had an understanding of all aspects of crime, road traffic and general police duties and responsibilities.

During my early career I worked a varied and enjoyable role as a Police Constable in Edinburgh and London. This included time spent in crime prevention, manning the crime desk, proactively targeting drugs supply and responding to calls for help from the general public. I also attended the Lockerbie trial in Holland as part of the Policing detail.
