U.S. Practice Director
Current• Direct the activities of Firm’s entire United States based immigration presence, including offices located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Providence, Rhode Island as well as select matters originating from the Firm’s headquarters in Toronto, Ontario. • Provide immigration counsel to corporate, nonprofit (research and university), and individual clients regarding nonimmigrant, immigrant and investor visa options. • Provide immigration counsel to companies and individuals facing investigations and sanctions from the Department of Labor (DOL) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).• Provide immigration advice to clients regarding consular processing and other complex matters involving the Department of State (DOS) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).• Serve as liaison between the Firm and various offices of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), ICE, CBP, DOS, DOL, and the Administrative Appeals Unit (AAU). • Make all financial decisions and responsible for the financial performance of the United States entities;• Make all hiring decisions for both associates and support staff in both United States offices.• Write academic and practitioner articles as well as give presentations to key clients.
