About Jonathan Hearn
I believe that sport and physical activity has the power and ability to address many cross cutting agendas as well as for the good of sport for sports sake. I have the drive and ability to make sport make a difference in our communities. I bring a variety of life skills into this industry of which I have now worked for 30 years. I’ve worked as a volunteer, lifeguard, sports coach, sports development Officer and had a range of management positions including Partnership Development Manager for Westminster School Sport Partnership. My knowledge and experience has been gained from the ground up.I have a joint Honours degree in Sports Studies and Leisure management and a range of associated qualifications including a football level 3 UEFA coaching License.I’ve been instrumental in bringing and delivering the School Sport Partnership (now the School Games Programme) Positive Futures and Exercise Referral to sports development in Westminster. I also lead Westminster's sports development Quest Accreditation programme. I am committed to bringing positive change to our industry and the lives of people it touches by offering my experience, knowledge, dedicated time, effort and passion to change things for the better.

I was the first PDM in Westminster, co-writing the SSCo application. I set up the programme and was centrally involved in developing an innoovative and non traditional model employing full time PE teachers who worked across familiies of schools but who were employed by the Council and were housed in Sports Development. This programme worked very successfully until funding was withdrawn in 2009.
