In Open Standards Benchmarking, I lead the world's largest and most widely used database of process performance metrics. This includes data collection, validation, and reporting. I assist in developing innovative new products and extensions to our benchmarking products, processes, and tools. I work with internal and external parties to collect primary research aligned with our research calendar, ensure quality, and delight our clients.I have also served as master of ceremonies for the annual APQC Conference for the past 3 years.

As a project manager for APQC’s Advisory Services team, I manage, research, and report on custom benchmarks, both quantitative and qualitative. I also support client projects focused on assessing and developing process management and knowledge management strategies and programs. And, I write and edit research studies and case studies on benchmarking and metrics, and contribute to the APQC benchmarking blog. Since joining APQC, I have delivered custom benchmarks in payroll, records and information management, and facilities management, and have worked through client deliverables in both face-to-face and virtual engagements.

As research program manager, I created and executed APQC’s process and performance management research agenda and created research projects focusing on benchmarking, framework usage, and process improvement. Some of my projects focused on overcoming organizational resistance, organizational implementation of APQC’s Process Classification Framework, and centralization vs. decentralization. I also developed and posted a robust series of benchmarking articles and overviews as part of The Value of Benchmarking collection on APQC’s Knowledge Base.

As a project manager with APQC, I delivered custom benchmarks in Payroll, Records and Information Management, and Facilities Management. I also wrote and edited case studies on benchmarking and metrics. For client engagements, I worked on projects and deliverables in both face-to-face and virtual environments and was proficient in managing project expenses and margins.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

As regional director at Sageworks, I introduced and differentiated the company’s banking suite of software tools to banks and credit unions and was responsible for territory management, pipeline management, client management, and proposal creation. I closed my first new business relationship in less than two months and quickly learned how Sageworks data could help bankers make faster, more profitable decisions. I also added eight new opportunities to the sales pipeline in first two months, totaling $150,000.

Greater Atlanta Area

As manager of benchmarking services for DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, I created and managed the tax benchmarking practice and team. My activities included client acquisition and retention, service delivery, and staff management of two direct reports. I was responsible for project planning, project management, client training, overseeing a series of projects at multiple clients, and final report-of-findings presentations. In this role, I added $2.4 million in new revenue and 20 new clients to the pipeline leveraging the benchmark, as well as two major benchmark offerings to the service portfolio. I managed the tax technology team to develop and create an online, client-facing data-collection tool and balanced my time between business development activities and client delivery activities. I also initiated client satisfaction surveys upon completion of benchmarks, with responses tied directly to my compensation.

Greater Atlanta Area

As benchmark analyst, I worked with benchmark clients to answer client questions, train clients on Hackett tools, validate client data, and create and deliver final benchmark presentations. I developed expertise across the full benchmark taxonomy of finance, IT, HR, and procurement processes, specifically focusing on the IT benchmark as well as IT process improvement identification and CIO relationships. I managed an internal pilot program to track client requests and questions prior to successful rollout to the entire benchmark team. I also served as first benchmark analyst, assisting senior analysts on-site with clients and paved the way for a new benchmark delivery process for all analysts.

As an account executive with The Hackett Group, I was responsible for prospecting and closing high-dollar, new-business relationships with executives of Fortune 100 companies. My activities included proposal creation, pricing, and client management. In this role, I identified and closed more than $4 million in new business, generated $580,000 of new business in a single quarter, and was named the Q1 2005 Account Executive of the Quarter. I enjoyed building strong relationships with executives in the finance, information technology, human resources, and procurement functions.
