As a LifeLine CCEMT I was responsible for operating and maintaining the Mobile Intensive Care Unit and assisting the neonatal, pediatric, and adult care teams with patient care by going above and beyond a normal EMT's duties. I was responsible for performing iSTAT blood gas testing, operating isoletes (neonatal temperature control units), IV pumps, and ventilation equipment.Working in the critical care environment requires good communication and problem solving skills. Throughout my time at LifeLine I have continued to improve these, and other skills, which I have then been able to apply to other environments such as the fire department. I have also learned a lot about patient care and medical emergencies.
