In August 2008, I set up my own web development company, Format.ie, with a current client base in excess of 300. We build and design websites, provide SEO, social media training and consultancy. I also run regular courses in website design for business owners from our offices in Ballintrillick, Co Sligo.

I provide the advanced website design teaching part which forms the end of a web design course run by FAS in Sligo. I also correct the web design exam papers.

I led a 10 week course for candidates in Grange to enable them to set up & maintain their own website.

• This WiFi company required a website with global reach, which required me to build an efficient, simple, CMS to enable users to translate the site into their native language. Shop, forum and complex accounting sections were also required• Worked within a team using Eclipse subversion. I was responsible for the re-design and re-build of Zonerider.net.• With a target launch date of early 2009, I re-built the site using XHTML strict, CSS, PHP / MySQL, with a splash of JavaScript.

• Designed, built and managed three web-based asset management applications for Roadwatch UK.• Acted as lead project manager working closely with Roadwatch UK and their client, British Telecommunications.• The sites were built using HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript. I developed processes to handle hundreds of surveys, digital photographs and drawings on a daily basis.• Working from comps in Photoshop and Fireworks, I created standards compliant XHTML and (x)html and CSS based templates for a design agency.• Designed and built standards compliant websites and applications for clients within the fields of legal, media, telecommunications, retail and transport• Used XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript predominantly

• Responsible for roll-out of a new VPN dial-in solution • Created a database to handle all project related information• Identified all laptop users, ordered required IDs and set up ISP accounts• Organised installations with project engineers• Trained over 400 customers • Produced trouble-shooting documentation for the Helpdesk • Trained Unilever’s new Helpdesk in a variety of products • Planned and oversaw an intensive week-long testing of the Helpdesk before the “go live” date

• Responsible for training users in the UK and France in a web-based repertoire clearance system• Created detailed scripts for testing new versions of software including regression testing• Set up and ran over 20 courses in Paris• Provided on site support and created user manuals to back up the training

• Standard and modular-based classroom training and task-specific 1:1 training• Desk-side support as well as training the Unilever ICL helpdesk in Holland • Website development and training; responsible for training users in the use of NetObjects to create and maintain departmental Intranet sites and for the development and maintenance of the training Intranet site.
