As a Project Engineer I was brought in to assist the project team with the installation and design of jet engine testing equipment. In my time with the company I focused mainly on an installation in Stavanger, Norway. This facility was designed to test the engines from a fleet of transport helicopters.I was also involved with the technical support and re-calibration of the engine testing site at RAF Valley in North Wales.- Hydraulics- Pneumatics- Site supervision and installation- Technical documentation

During my time at South Eastern I was involved in the design, manufacture, testing and commissioning of both repeat and bespoke Hydraulic Testing equipment and power units.We serviced a variety of customer needs including the restoration of a telephone box removal trailer, not something you see everyday.My general duties were, Meeting the customers and discussing their needs; Interpreting these needs and presenting the designs using 3D CAD software; Costing and budgeting the project to acquire final go ahead from both the customer and management; Liaising with suppliers and updating the customer to any changes; Supervising the manufacture of the equipment and supporting the customer once installed.

During this period I was in responsible for ensuring the running and maintenance of the machine shop floor. Keeping a clean and safe working environment and ensuring materials where ready to be used.This position also required me to check the quality of the finished work. Surface finish and tolerances as well as the quality of any threaded components focusing on their sizing and fit.Checking the deliveries and stocking the shelves as well as contacting the suppliers directly if there were any issues.From time to time I was required to accompany senior staff to visit customers if there was an issue of if general maintenance or fitting was needed.

I was trained in the use of manual lathe and milling machines, drill and surface grinders along with a wide variety of hand tools.Processing any quantity of parts required from several hundred to specific one off builds.I also gained a working knowledge of CNC lathes.
