I started my career that is, taking personal responsibility and being responsible a bit later than most. I spent many years staying as far from "responsibility" as I could. what I gained from choosing such a life style was self reliance, vigilance, keen awareness of my surroundings, noticing the smallest details, seeing what needed attention, what could use a different approach, makes situations better, proficient, more productive, using as little effort and whatever was available. I learned that the less fortunate were far more giving and accepting than most. I learned to discern an honest mistake from willful disregard. I learned I have little patience for closed minds, unwavering willingness to see from another's perspective. I have learned that, change is an absolute. if you cannot stay ahead of it, do your level best to keep up with it. I have realized that every single day, I can do something to be a better person, life is not happening "to" me. life is happening "for" me. everyday is an opportunity to grow as an individual, expand my knowledge, my personal experience has lead me to an understanding that if I am not actively seeking,whether self improvement, knowledge, understanding, pr helping whenever I see a need I can meet. life has a way of bringing about undesirable situations that require action to rectify. to me, it is a tap on the shoulder that I am stagnant and need to move forward from my current thoughts, or beliefs, I have stopped moving in a forward direction. at the very least I have become unwilling, in some way. no matter where I have been in life, I try to be better than I was the day before. not to be better than another, only to always do my best for the sake of doing my best, unconcerned of what another my think of believe.
