My duties as an instructor are to run a session with a client to help improve social and academic skills. Many sessions require on the spot decisions and to be able to adapt to a clients needs. The job also involved a team discussion with the parents in order to improve the clients learning plan and make the behavior plan more effective.

My duties as a coach counselor were to work with my colleagues to provide a safe living and healthy environment for the students at Rite of Passage. I was placed on the drug and alcohol group and was put into the position to run treatment groups and be a positive influence on the students.

I walked around the Edison Neighborhood and talked to community members about literacy and other problems that they were facing. I would then return a day later with more information on how to help them and would make referrals with my supervisor.

I was a founding member of the agency and helped network members of the city of Kalamazoo to get better careers to provide for their families. I also was the note keeper for the board and was a crucial part of recruiting people in the neighborhoods of Kalamazoo.
