What do I currently do?I'm currently an Active Duty Service Member in the United States Air Force, working as a Weapons Load Crew Member. I do anything from maintaining multi-million dollar weapons systems, varying dangerous munitions and projectile loading, troubleshooting malfunctioning technology, and up keeping correct documentation of aircraft forms on the A-10 Thunderbolt II. What skills has it taught me? I can proudly say that the knowledge and lessons taught with 3 years of employment in this job are learning to be a part of a team, taking charge when needed, teaching what was taught to me for the guidance of others, and being reliable. These skills are something that have so much depth to them in their own right. Being reliable is much more important to me, especially for the position I want, where no matter what field I enter, I can always be depended on to help the team in whatever endeavor we find ourselves in. What am I currently working towards? Currently, a course on Google Career Certificates provided by Coursera named "Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate" has been teaching me the fundamentals of cybersecurity and the technology field. I have learned many things so far as to different SIEM tools, compliance regulations, different frameworks and controls, and the concepts of playbooks, which are very similar to the type of material we use for work that I already do in the Air Force. Cybersecurity is an evolving field that I want to find myself in because of how complex and interesting it is to see the ongoing changes every couple of years that will keep it exciting for me.
