Performed duties as Supervisory IT Specialist and Information Assurance Manager at the Far East Theater Network Operation Support Center (TNOSC). Managed 21 IT security professionals whose daily duties included incident response, security architecture and design, asset protection and monitoring, security posture/strategic support, access control, and security awareness and training. Managed the security program for two Enterprise (Classified and Unclassified) and 2 Legacy (Classified and Unclassified) networks supporting 28,000 users throughout five countries. Oversight of the Far East theater certification and accreditation program. Ensured appropriate artifacts were prepared, reviewed, and submitted to the Certification Authority (CA) within mandated timelines. Ensured risk assessments and site security test and evaluations were performed on an annual basis. Monitors and evaluates system compliance with IT security requirements. Evaluates impact of changes and recommends updates to existing local policies to ensure compliance. Performed non-technical assessment of the security, processes, procedures, and provisions that are implemented to compliment internal controls required to support operations. Ensured the security program is flexible and focused and provides the degree of protection commensurate with the level of organizational dependencies on IT systems.
