I am responsible for the management and monitoring of all Land, Property and Accommodation related issues across the UHB Property Portfolio, which is valued in excess of £680 million (2022). I am responsible for the management and monitoring of Public Private Partnership/Private Finance Initiative Contracts on a UHB wide basis and liaising with external partners. I develop systems for monitoring performance against contract conditions and promote positive working relations and collaboration between all PPP/PFI partiesI am responsible for the management and implementation of lease agreements with commercial external parties in the provision of retail outlets within the UHB portfolio. Managing compliance and monitoring performance against the lease’s agreements.I am responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive estate database which will include the reporting on size, condition, occupancy, utilisation and performance of all estate assets across the UHB.

I am responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Planning in the management and monitoring of all Property and Accommodation across Cardiff and Vale UHB.Where appropriate I take lead responsibility for specific property, land and accommodation projects. Such projects include estate rationalisation, site disposals and acquisitions.I am responsible for ensuring that any estate disposals are completed in a manner that maximise benefit to the UHB. Such disposals ranged from simple residential sales to larger hospital disposals requiring the coordination of several consulting surveyors and agents.I am the lead for all accommodation enquiries within the UHB. I source, prioritise and allocate accommodation of all sizes, ranging from single office moves to large scale accommodation relocation planning and implementation as a consequence of estate rationalisation.I provide assistance and support on legal matters relating to Land and Property issues. I, with NWSSP support, negotiate and obtain lease agreements, rent reviews, rateable value assessments etc. that are most beneficial to the UHB.I am also the main point of contact for all wayfinding issues. I develop, implement and update the UHB wayfinding strategy and advise departmental users on their signage needs.I liaise with the District Valuer and external consultants to ensure that rateable values are applied to the UHB estate and negotiate reductions and relief as necessary.
