Blockbridge was founded with a vision of providing secure storage services in an application, vendor, and platform agnostic manner. Our technology is software-defined storage that delivers composable infrastructure for diverse data services at any scale.

Upon acquisition of Acopia Networks by F5 Networks, I became an architect in the Advanced Development Group of the F5 Data Solutions division. Here, I provided architectural, technical, and team leadership for line-rate NAS protocol processing techniques implemented using commodity hardware and software. In addition, I continued to consult on storage interoperability for vendor specific filesystem and NAS protocol implementations.

I arrived at Acopia as the first formal hire into the storage group where I designed and proposed the architecture that became the foundation of the ARX storage virtualization family. I was primarily responsible for the storage virtualization technology, heterogeneous multi-protocol metadata filesystem, storage protocol proxies, and data migration components. I also made significant contributions to the initial hardware platform design in support of scalability, fault tolerance and high availability.*Acopia Networks was successfully acquired by F5 Networks in September of 2007.

An opportunity to professionally develop and promote Linux based solutions is what started my career in the Boston area. At MCLX, I focused on Linux kernel development in support of improving performance on the Alpha 21264 architecture and the effort to port the Linux virtual memory subsystem to the Intel IA64 architecture. I also led the research and design effort for a software based distributed shared memory implementation using low latency RDMA interconnects (Quadrics, Myricom, VIA/Ethernet).
