In my position as a soccer referee at i9 Sports, I was responsible for officiating youth soccer matches (ages 5-12). During match day, I had to ensure that a positive environment was created for the 50 kids by engaging players, coaches and parents in order to develop a productive and cooperative community. Another aspect of creating an enjoyable environment was encouraging and teaching the players during the games, allowing them to have as much fun as possible, all while developing a foundational knowledge of soccer.I also coached small-group training sessions for players aged between 8-12. In these sessions, I would organize a training session centered around one of the foundational aspects of soccer, shooting, dribbling, passing, or defense. I worked closely with each player to ensure that they understood each drill and were making progress in the specified skill. In my internship role, I was able to apply what I learned in the classroom by creating different Microsoft Excel documents to forecast revenue, expenses and growth for different golf hospitality events around the United States. In addition, I worked on different marketing materials, such as PowerPoints and brochures, to present to potential clients looking to invest in these hospitality events.
