This is a Ministry of Justice appointment. IMBs were established by the Prison Act 1952 to monitor the welfare of prisoners in the UK to ensure that they are properly cared for within Prison and Immigration Centre rules, whilst in custody and detention. Members of the Independent Monitoring Board are the 'eyes and ears' of the community within a prison - and report to the Ministry of Justice.

Around 1,000 prisoners leave the custody of prisons in the UK every week. Currently the re-offending rate in the UK is one of the highest in Europe. In 2019 the total estimated economic and social cost of reoffending was £18.1 billion per annum. The Company developed a highly effective dispute resolution training programme for use in prisons using highly experienced trainers called "ReSeT"). The company used a combination of restorative practice skills, coaching techniques, NVC, CBT, Appreciative Inquiry and Transactional Analysis. The mission having been completed the company dissolved itself.

After Sony purchased Ericsson’s 50% shareholding in the Sony Ericsson Joint Venture I was asked to take on additional (concurrent) responsibility for heading the Legal & Compliance team responsible for all Sony electronics businesses across the Americas -based in California.
