I am an Educational Aide for the Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD) and a Facilitator/ Leader of BIPOC Community Meetings at Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Committee Team. This committee brainstorms about how to improve educational disparity for WSD students in particular but deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH) students across the entire state in general. We collaborate with hearing and Deaf stakeholders including guest speakers from business and higher education communities as well as college students to help high school students understand how to cultivate leadership skills. My expertise is using my Imaginative Thinking and Analytic Skills to help students discover the intrinsic value of education. I strive to help each student reach their full potential by helping them adapt to a hearing world and create their own sense of success. My colleagues say that I exhibit boundless energy and enthusiasm to help reduce educational disparity within the Deaf communities. I use transparency, compassion, empathy and equity to reach my students. Lastly I am in conversation with the Special Assistant of State Superintendent for Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to continue brainstorming about supportive and inclusive options for WSD students' educational platform. Currently, I am seeking opportunities to be a liaison or consultant with governmental, educational, and non profit organizations who want to be more accessible for BIPOC students living at the intersections of race and disability. As a successful Deaf Black man, my life experiences and skill set will be invaluable to your organization!
