I am many things including playful, as you may see in this bio:Megan McGee of the house McBedalov, the first of her name on yahoo.com, Executive Director and co-founder of Ex Fabula, Gen Xer, Master of Arts in Spanish Literature, follower of Ella Baker, fosterer of Brave Spaces, breaker of silence and stigma, and mother of six-year-old Olivia. But if you are feeling very traditional, I can code switch: Megan McGee is Co-founder and Executive Director of Ex Fabula, a Milwaukee nonprofit that connects Milwaukee through real stories. Megan has an MA in Literature in Spanish and countless stories about her time living in Mexico. She also has a degree in Theatre, which she uses while writing, performing and directing in the all-female sketch comedy group broadminded. She leverages scholarly research on the neuroscience of storytelling and feedback from community members in order to create storytelling programming that connects individuals, fosters empathy, and amplifies underrepresented voices and stories. Under her leadership, Ex Fabula has received awards including a 2020 MANDI for their Deaf Storytelling work and a 2021 Unity Award from Milwaukee Magazine.
