I was one of the key team of 4 people, nominated by my previous employer as crucial to spearhead the establishment of a completely new business unit within Severfield PLC. The objective was to resurrect the business model of Portastor Ltd and my direct role was that of Commercial & Contracts Manager.My initial key responsibilities encompassed● Engineering● Estimating● Quotations (including ITT’s, PQQ’s, reviewing and agreeing proposed Terms & Conditions)● Procurement● Project Management and contract deliveryWe used our skills and knowledge to set up new processes/systems; re-establish existing processes; talk to previous clients and attract new ones; create effective teams of M&E engineers, quality/inspection and production/procurement staff. Securing new sub-contractors and commencing manufacture.The team were successful in obtaining orders, even throughout Covid lock down and have built steadily on this by continuing to grow both the team and client base.I was in charge of a team of 3 Project Managers, an Assistant Commercial Manager and Document Controller. During my tenure as Commercial Manager, these are some of the typical types of projects that modules were supplied into.● Nuclear sector for electrification upgrades.● “Modules of the future” for electrification upgrades at sites around Glasgow for Scot Rail.● Housing control equipment at each of the land sites for the Dogger Bank offshore windfarm project for National Grid.● Power distribution to for Data Centre projects.● Additional power capacity to new LPG storage silos at a strategic UK location.

Additionally I have managed the design & build of many stainless steel buildings that are now deployed within the Nuclear industry within the UK.

Responsible for handling the sales administration of Portastor products which included the majority of the blue-chip companies during the construction of the UK cellular network including T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, Dolphin, Cellnet. This also including the manufacture and delivery of street cabinets/furniture.Additionally I managed a project where we constructed a number of large steel frames which were shipped to Puerto Rico and are now included within a factory that allows a global business to manufacture insulin/ These were completed for a specialist pharmaceutical company and left the UK ready for final installation on site.
