From working on various CNC and CAD/CAM innovations for a wide range of components (aerospace/defence/automotive/etc), I have a unique set of experiences related to design and production. My ICT analysis/programming skills landed contracts in West Africa (USAID/TCN) related to policy developments. I was later involved in Civil Aviation developments (policy and infrastructure) and lead the development of a substantial private airfield/engineering facility building light aircraft, training in Aviation and Engineering skills as well as humanitarian outreach and customised aircraft solutions for aerial dispersal and supply.My engineering and flying skills were uniquely combined with the developments of the 912iS powerplant programme, achieving the first installation outside of direct factory control and being the hot weather test pilot during the development programme. My approach to safety and regulatory conformity coupled with engineering and pilot skills allowed me to reduce development time dramatically with outstanding results. In 2015, I returned to the UK managing the Rotax Aircraft network for the UK before launching Metal Seagulls Ltd in 2016 with my wife. Together, we manage the Zenair, ULpower, DUC Hélices, EarthX, and other dealerahips and are both aircraft inspectors. We work to get our aircraft approved to UK standards and offer a range of engineering and development solutions from modifications, airframe kits, custom full-airframe development, and have production facilities and capabilities set-up to meet the needs of decarbonisation developments in the light Aviation sector. Specialising in making aircraft builds quicker, plans compliant, and efficient and able to move rapidly from clean-sheet to hands-on concepts in-houseI am bilingual English/French with get-by skills in other languages. My programming skills include VB/VBA, C, ADA, and Clarion. I am competent with DesignCad, Fusion 360, OfficeSuite, Corel suite, CyberLink suite, and a range of other applications.Having written thousands of programmes for CNC punch presses, mills, lathes, routers, etc. directly in G-Code, as well as via CAE solutions and personally developed code generators and post processors, my engineering designs are based on being able to be produced efficiently and effectively. I have spent recent years preparing for decarbonisation of light aviation and look forward to amazing opportunities that lie ahead in powerplant and energy source agnostic airframe development in our Pembrokeshire facilities.
