Assistant Manager
Current
Assistant Food Service Director
I over see the everyday production of all three meals inside the correctional facility. I also do all the food ordering. I count the inventory and also the P&L. I do the scheduling for the Aramark crew and the inmates. I also hire and terminate my Aramark crew. I make sure all the sanitation jobs are also done everday. I help make sure every meal period stay smooths and moves at a steady past, so we can get all the inmates in and out of the line as quick as possible.
General Manager
As a General Manager I have to make sure every function of my restaurant run the best it possibly can. I make sure every guess that either come in my restaurant or through the drive thru gets the best service possible and leaves satisfied. I make sure every crew member or manager hired is trained properly. I also conduct all of the hiring, but with hiring also comes the holding crew accountable and later if it comes to it firing. I count inventory once a week and do a P&L sheet to keep it up all month. I also do weekly schedules. I make sure labor and speed of service is ran daily especially between the hour of 6am to 11am. I order truck two days a week and use build to reports to do the order. I have to make sure everyone of my crew is satsified with there jobs.
Assistant General Manager
As an assistant General Manager I was trained on how to do everything a general manager could do.I was next in line to take over a store as General Manager as soon as a store came open. I would make sure every guest that came in to eat at Frish's left satsified. I loved going out and talking to the customers that would come in to eat. I would make the schedule every week. I had all responsibilities that a general manager would. I would order truck orders 5 times a week bc we had 4 differant vendors. I also did most of the hiring for the location. I especially over saw the training of alm the crew that came in and worked there especially the kitchen crew bc we didnt have a kitchen leader. We also had a drive thru and the location i was at focused more on the inside orders than drive thru before i started there but then after i got there i trained the crew to be on top of drive thru also. We started making speed of service daily after that. I made sure all crew members did there job but also liked coming to work.
General Manager
A General manager is a very stressful but passionate job, you spend your nights and days at your store, you dedicate your life to build your dream store and making sure you keep up with the store for example fixing things that are broken in the store. I learned to love my job and the people I worked for. I learned under and studied under my General Manager who gave his days and nights to that store making sure it was taken care of. He taught me to never be selfish and greedy because money cant buy happiness and he was right. Being around someone who cared and share made me realize that a general manager isn't just my job its whats providing for my family and making them be able to live the life they want to live. He listened to my ideas, and we built the ultimate Dream Team. I soon realized as general manager i never enjoyed working with the hourly managers who were there for a pay check, I am a strong believer of my team being a family and with every family has its ups and downs. Along with a general manager. Some major duties I did was building my team. Keeping up with waste and making sure my team does as well. Following critical procedures and making sure my managers do the responsibilities and tasks that will build our sales and profits. I personally was in charge of passing health inspections, sbo visits, making sure we increase sales by our last year. Another major thing as a general manager is being open with your team and making sure you make the numbers to make your boss happy. another motto I live by "Happiness is only REAL if shared." We cant run a business without them, just like they cant run a business with us. with a great experience, comes a happy customers, and a better chance for them to return to my business.
General Manager
As the General Manager I make sure the everyday functions of the restaurant run like there suppose to. I make sure that every gueat that walks into my restaurant leaves most satsified as possible.I would also make sure all of my managers and crew would be trained properly so each shift runs as smooth as possible. I would count inventory once a month and then do the P&L for that month. I would also perform interviews on candidates and hire them if they fit what we were looking for in a crew member. With hiring also comes firing i would have to hild crew accountable even if it came to firing. I would also order truck twice a week. I would also make sure labor and speed of service would be ran everyday. Lastly I would make sure all of my crew and managers was satisfied with there job and loved coming to work atleast most of the time.
Kitchen Manager
As a kitchen manager I have a lot of responsibilities. Other than making sure everything runs correctly and procedures are followed in the kitchen, I also have to order truck, count and enter waste and do Dailey, weekly, and monthly counts. As a department manager I am directly below the general manager, if he or she isn't there I am next in command.
Shift Manager
As a shift manager there are many tasks to follow, we have to keep track of inventory as a night shift manager. I also am in charge of leading my fellow Shift managers on our waste program. We have to make sure our labor is controlled and that all managers are teaching and guiding crew members to follow policy and procedures. Being a manager is full time job. There are many times we have to be able to lead the team on stressful moments. As a shift manager we are in charge of keeping up with critical procedures for example making sure our equipment is sanitized and all product that does not meet requirements to be discarded or disposed of. Another major thing i focus on, is guest satisfaction.. my motto " What Can I Do To Please You?" that being said, I want my customers to keep coming back and enjoying the experience that my staff and i give to them. Guest satisfaction is one of my number one priority's along with Critical procedures.
Team Leader In Deli
Walking into Sams Club, I was in a different environment. I was still doing inventory at the beginning of the month. Along with Inventory my supervisor personally left me in charge of Truck, Our truck came 3 times a week. Walking into the environment I noticed my department was lacking leadership and communication skills, working at fast food I learned about handling customers and crew members, letting them open up to me, this allows me to have a great communication and letting the crew know I care about them and there opinions even if its not beneficial to myself. Lastly, I realized Sams club number one priority was sales, but unlike fast-food its increasing the sales that are down for the month. My supervisor gave each department mine being deli a product to increase and with the team I built this task was simple, we increased sales like bacon, chicken, and deli meat up minimum $300.00 to the max of $1,000 in just one week. After other shift managers saw they asked me for advice on how to communicate and eliminate drama from there team and actually work together. soon our sales increased at-least 50% from last year that month.
General Manager
Burger King was my first job, I started as a crew, worked my way up to a crew trainer, to shift manager, next assistant manger and finally at the age of 22 became a General Manager for Ocedon company. Assistant Manager
When Burger King switched to a franchise organization things changed, Working Under a Franchise company they have a better way to communicate with all there stores unlike corporate who is such a big industry that its harder for them to reach out to all there stores, corporate is more strict for following procedures and franchise is more of a reach out moment. Ocedon is a very family like company I enjoyed my time with them, and feel they taught me a lot of great and exciting new coaching skills. With each meeting came a new learning skill, from pointers for leadership. Ocedon "cares" care, appreciates, respects everyone. ! this is an amazing motto that I still live by to this day. Being able to communicate with the owners made me really learn hands on what its like to run a business.
Assistant Manager
Being an Assistant Manager is a very great learning experience, especially since my dream is to own my own franchisee. While traveling to different store I learned a lot from each general manager how to grow as a team, how to do a "build to for truck", and Guest satisfaction. Being an Assistant made me realize that a lot of being a manager is to lead and succeed and with great success comes proper build of a team , "you need to keep your Dream Team in there places" and train your new team members with a strong team leader or with a manager. The build of the truck helped organize to know what to order and to never over stock. Finally I stretch on Guest satisfaction, to be a great assistant you need to set an example for crew and other managers that have trouble with communicating with customers.
Shift Manager
Shift Manager, I jumped right into, putting my hands on anything I could learn. Following under my Assistant Manger (Anthony E. Correllus) taught me how to lead and succeed, to maintain time and a timely manage. I learned how to communicate and respect my team, for them to respect me. I learned to motivated my team members to make speed and make numbers for our hourly sales. I made sure my team was marking waste throughout the day so we could maintain a strong peek hour. With every shift manager comes different strengths and weakness my strength was being properly trained to run a smooth shift, but my weakness was learning how to properly order truck, by following a build to.
Crew Trainer
While I was a crew trainer, I work mostly late nights. While I was a crew trainer, I mostly trained them with the basics first, proper procedures, cleaning methods, and maintaing there positions. As a night crew trainer i had to train them to properly sanitize all products from the "boards to the floors". A crew trainer was also teaching them to lead others as well and not just take there job as a paycheck. Every crew member is and was replaceable i explained to them and if they want hours then they need to be on time, to follow procedures to always clean and wipe off there boards and then to always keep there work positions clean and organized.
Crew Member
Burger King was my first job, starting my first job of course came nerves and then after the first year I learned all basics. I learned all positions from specialty boards to drive thru window. I learned everything I could because I had already knew I wanted to move up but not until I was ready and when my managers thought i was ready. I was picking up shifts to learn more to be trained in new surroundings. I wanted to make sure I learned all I could for when my managers thought I was ready, I would already know all positions to teach and guide. Being a crew member came great responsibilities. When I learned to close, I learned to break apart the broiler, shake machine and rebuild them I also learned to change fryers. I was eager to teach new members and shortly after became a crew trainer.
