The wetland delineation surveys include identifying hydric/wetland soils, determining hydrology, and determining presence of wetland plants. RTE surveys require the analysis of all plant species at a given site.

Invasive plant removal in Vermont's Champlain Valley. Backpack herbicide application as well as hack and squirt and cut stump using mostly chainsaws. In addition to this we also did replanting at several sites to increase biodiversity.

Volunteer for nest monitoring project focused on spiny softshell turtle populations. Duties involved nest searches, careful excavation of nests, documentation of contents, handling of eggs, embryos and hatchlings and coordination/communication with U.S. Fish and Wildlife.

Private contractor responsible for completion of habitat assessment and presence surveys for endangered bog turtle, as well as endangered species construction monitoring.

Wetlands specialist, with a focus on protection of the endangered bog turtle. As a qualified bog turtle surveyor, I was responsible for the collection and evaluation of data for phase one as well as phase two bog turtle habitat assessment reports. Another role was to monitor work sites near bog turtle habitat to reduce potential take of this endangered species. Participated in collection of data for wetland mitigation water level well monitoring.

Assistant to head wetlands scientist. Responsible for assisting with data collection, photography and report writing for habitat assessment and presence of endangered species. Activities included plant identification, evaluation of soils and hydrology, macro-invertebrate surveys, environmental site assessments, trap-building, trapping, as well as monitoring various job sites to protect the endangered bog turtle. After working for Landmark full time, I worked for them on a part-time and on-call basis until the spring of 2019.

Field assistant to Maryland state biologist Scott Smith. Assessed populations of bog turtles and their habitats in the state of Maryland. Took detailed notes of characteristics of each individual turtle caught. Updating markings on turtles for ongoing capture-recapture studies as well as marking new individuals for said studies. We also did some work with locating the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly and its host plant the white turtlehead. Participated in a short trapping study for the greater siren.

General farm duties including setting seed trays, applying organic insecticide, removal of pest insects, cleaning equipment, learning aquaponics techniques, preparing produce for market.

Habitat restoration with a focus on addition and support of native flora, tree-plantings, removal of non-native and invasive flora. Herbicide application both with hand application and backpack sprayers. Grounds maintenance (mowing, weed-wacking, weed-pulling in gardens).

Invasive plant control by hand removal as well as with herbicide application. Deer fence installation, tree-planting, general property maintenance.

(American Black Duck Project) Behavioral analysis of wintering waterfowl on impoundments of the Delaware Bay, point count analysis of all birds in area, collection of food/tissue samples.

(F.R.A.M.E. Project). Duties included nest-searching and spot-mapping for songbirds, point-count analysis, nest-checking, insect collection, use of yagi antennae.
