I am an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Geoffrey Strouse's research group at Florida State University. In our research, we are particularly interested in the synthesis and characterization of plasmonic nanoparticle systems. I have synthesized a number of metallic and plasmonic nanocrystal systems and gained experience in characterizing them in terms of their fundamental optical properties and plasmonic characteristics, when applicable. My current focus is on plasmonic CuCrS2 nanocrystals, specifically on achieving tunability over their physical and optical characteristics. It is my goal to eventually find innovative applications for these materials in areas like photocatalysis and sensor technologies.

I worked to deliver mathematics instruction to students enrolled in pre-Kindergarten through pre-Calculus in meaningful and memorable ways. This typically involved teaching several students at a time. I also gave private lessons upon request to students in preparation for state standardized assessments as well as the Math sections of the ACT and SAT.
